Maranatha, a ministry of The Riverside Church, is committed to serving God by fostering greater understanding while promoting equity for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer/Questioning people. To these ends, we have organized our ministry to serve, advocate, and support the LGBTQ community.
Serve - The Service Committee continues to pursue its goal of championing humanitarian causes by assisting members of the LGBTQ community who are in need. One example is Maranatha's work as a lead organizer of the Greater New York Task Force for Homeless LGBTQ Youth.
Advocate - The Advocacy Committee creates its own projects as well as aligns itself with other LGBTQ organizations of faith in order to work toward equal rights for all and to end spiritual violence.
Support - The Support Committee provides support to the general body of Maranatha through the use of creative special events and meetings that help to provide further cohesiveness among our members.
- Maranatha also continues to provide an information table at Coffee Hour on Sunday morning, all are welcome, so please stop by!
