About Lotus Portal
Printed in 2016 at the LeRoy Neiman Center for Print Studies in a limited edition of 50, these archival pigment prints entitled Lotus Portal, feature pigmented inkjet, screenprint and spray paint.
Individually hand-signed and numbered, the 21.5 x 18.75 inch print features the flower that has become a signature Biggers motif. A powerful Buddhist symbol of resilience for its ability to bloom even in inhospitable conditions, the lotus bears a striking visual similarity to 18th-century diagrams of slave ship holds carrying human cargo.
