This program series will explore a century of Black theater through conversations and readings of plays found in the Schomburg Center’s collections. The Schomburg will also invite contemporary playwrights to stage readings of new and recent works in the American Negro Theatre and Langston Hughes Auditorium. Collaborators for the Centennial include CLASSIX, the Apollo Theater, National Black Theatre, New Federal Theatre, and playwright Ngozi Anyanwu. Registration coming soon!
