The NYC Bird Alliance and Riverside Park Conservancy invite bird lovers of all levels to take part in the 126th Annual Christmas Bird Count. This long-running community science tradition helps track winter bird populations while connecting people with nature in the heart of New York City.

Participants will team up with experienced birders to walk designated routes, identify species, and record sightings that contribute to an international database used by scientists and conservationists. Whether you’re a beginner birder, a seasoned avian expert, or simply a nature lover, this is a fun and meaningful way to support urban wildlife.

Date: Sunday, December 14, 2025
Location: Riverside Park, Manhattan (organized by NYC Bird Alliance × Riverside Park Conservancy)
Who it’s for: Adults, families, students, and anyone curious about birds and urban ecology

What to expect:
