A native New Yorker raised in Houston, TX, guitarist / arranger Andrei Carrieré studied with Lightnin’ Hopkins, David T. Walker and Clarence Holliman while also playing as a teen in the legendary Kashmere Stage Band, a student group helmed by Conrad Johnson that is well known to record collectors. He graduated with honors from Berklee in 1977, with a degree in arranging and composition, staying in Boston for a prolific stint with disco producer Arthur Baker. He made numerous (often uncredited) appearances as the guitarist on recordings for the Salsoul and Casablanca labels.
