Oasis Powerhouse is a community center started by Abdi Abajabal and run by Abdi, Dana Sprung, Anne-Laure White, and Nick Ogutu. Its mission is to create a space where the Harlem and Hamilton Heights communities can access free resources that promote a healthy, fulfilling, and empowering life. We focus on wellness: offering fitness classes, yoga, nutrition, music, meditation, and arts. We offer empowerment like legal training, know your rights workshops, informational sessions on social security and retirement benefits, and more. We also have events that are free and open to the public, such as stand-up comedy, concerts, parties, murder mysteries, and open-mics.
